Barney Schwartz Pumptrack
NOW OPEN - SUMMER 2024
The Barney Schwartz Park bicycle pump track is a small looping asphalt trail system with rhythmically connected rollers and banked turns that can be ridden continuously, without pedaling. This is an exciting addition to Barney Schwartz Park, which includes four ball diamonds, four soccer fields, a walking trail system, two playgrounds, multiple picnic areas, and a fishing pond.
The bicycle pump track is designed to be suitable for all ages with separate tracks for both beginning and intermediate riders. The project architect for the Barney Schwartz Park Bicycle Pump Track is California Skateparks, designers of the Tokyo Olympic Skatepark and the Vans Off the Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach, CA. According to project architect Zach Wormhoudt, this pump track is unique because of the terrain and the fact that it will be built on a hillside, allowing for his firm to create a one-of-a-kind pump track in Paso Robles.
Funding for the pump track is provided by the REC Foundation through the Dale Schwartz Memorial Endowment Fund with an estimated cost of over half a million dollars for the design and construction for the project. The estimated completion date isSpring 2024.
